Le Parc National de Bouba Ndjidda

.

Le Parc National de Bouba Ndjidda is part of the Tentative list of Cameroon in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

Bouba Ndjidda is a national park (NP) in the north of Cameroon. It has a Sudano-Guinean climate with a wet and dry season of equal length. Most of Bouba Ndjidda NP is made up of a slightly hilly peneplain located between 280 and 400 m above sea level. The park's surface slopes east to west and is drained by a large network of intermittent streams locally called “Mayo”. The dense hydrographic network favours the development of ecological interaction processes between wildlife species and characteristic habitats in this environment. With its 11 plant formations, the NP constitutes one of the last witnesses of Sudanese formations not yet subjected to anthropogenic pressure other than bush fires. The NP also houses a great wildlife diversity with 24 species of large and medium mammals and 250 species of birds.
